About Marta (as she says in her website)

I studied graphic design in Barcelona and after working there as a graphic designer for almost five years (The Original Cha Chá), I decided to pursue my interest for illustration that I had since I was a child. I moved to England and I joined the MA in Children’s Book Illustration at the Cambridge School of Art. Now, after finishing the course, I think it was the BEST decision I have ever made. Since I graduated, I’m working as an illustrator in London and it makes me feel so lucky and happy. A couple of years ago I started working as a part time lecturer in the MA in Children’s Book Illustration at the Cambridge School of Art.I always try to have a positive and funny vision about life and to get a smile from who is looking at my drawings or reading my stories is what I like the most about illustration.

Here are a few other pencil arts we found on random search on google, unable to locate the original artist though to convey the credits 😦

Amazing Arts & Artists : Bamboo Root Sculptures by ‘Fiong Hung Hom’

Bamboo Root Art (5)

The talented Vietnamese artist Fiong Hung Hom is the world-famous man, thanks to his amazing sculpture, which he created from the roots of bamboo. The uniqueness and mystique of the artist’s work are mesmerizing and does not pass by. Fiong Hung Hom began his artistic career by accident. At age 15, living in Hoi An, a village famous for the rich bamboo thickets, Fiongu was hard to stand out among the dozens of talented sculptors and artists on a bamboo carving.

However, 7 years ago, sitting off the coast of the crowded Thu Bon River, he saw that had washed ashore bamboo stumps. Fiong took a few stumps home to try to turn them into sculptures. And then he had no idea that this is the beginning of a very successful business. Today, talented and resourceful Fiong Hung Hom has its own exhibition hall of the sculptures, and his work can be found in more than 20 shops and souvenir Hoi An.

His weekdays artist spends considering bamboo roots and deciding how to bring them a realistic look. Fiong tries a monthly 200-300 statuettes, as the demand for them is growing by the day.
