A Secret about God, Religions and Virtues

water-with-sunlightI wish to share a secret with you, that I have learned in my spiritual exploration.

Your character and love towards everyone should invite people to ask curiously “What is the secret?”. Your answer can be any like Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, Jainism, Judaism or any faith, even Atheism can be your answer.

What is the real secret here? Your Faith or your Virtues?

In fact, your virtues are the secret of your Faith that you’ve chosen to believe. ūüôā

It is like keeping a precious jewel in a safe box. Without the box, the jewel would be lost, without the jewel, the box would be regarded worthless. Your faith is the safe box and your virtues are the jewels.

Regardless of whatever the safe box/religions you have, the jewels/virtues remain the same. God has all the virtues and needs no safe box like we need. Now this is the bigger secret one can understand at higher level of spiritual enlightenment.

So, value people based on their virtues, not on the basis of their religion. Respect their choice and freedom, they are free souls just like you and me.

Five Thoughts for You : Spiritual Self Realization

spiritual journey

Atheist & Theist
An Atheist and A Theist have no difference in moral perspectives! On immoral side, they just manipulate their beliefs on God for selfish benefits. On the moral side, both a believer and disbeliever remains good and kind in nature to all living beings. All it matters is how do you define your morality?

Spirituality & Religion
Spirituality is the destiny as well as the journey, Religions are different paths to it. Now a days people cling on to the religions for namesake, rarely people follow and live by the good deeds and principles what every religion says. Spirituality can filter the human manipulations and adulteration done on religions. It is the common thread in all religions and has the same principles. One can attain spirituality even without religions and godly beliefs.

The God & Human
The God is the most simple as well as the most complex power! There is a pattern of life forms in universes, far beyond human brains. We often complicate to unveil them. We humans are a speck among billions, our sights cannot reach beyond a certain limit, but by nature we are curiously trying species to be superlative to all, including God. We gave shapes, names, ideas, rituals and religions to God matching our minds and expectations! But God is some power beyond explanation.

Extremists inside us
Both extreme attachment as well as aversion is the cause of all the evils in the world. Terrorism, corruption, communal riots, crimes and everything are the outcome of Extremism. Extremists are not always violent as many perceive, holding on to anything beyond a certain limit and detaining from concerning for others is a form of extremism. It is wide spread like a parasite on human minds, we cling on to something extreme, at least to one thing, like money, castes, feminism, dominance, etc many of us hardly realize the extremist living within us.

Individual and Rest of the World
What connects us with the rest of the world? Our Actions we do, which is the resultant of the thoughts, which in turn a resultant of perceptions, which is the resultant of the society and the society is a collection of individuals like us! So it’s like a boomerang cycle connecting everything with interlinks. Hard to expose the exact picture, but easy to accept! One can change his world by changing himself / herself, its as simple as that. Hope we individually try to find the meaning of our own existence and purpose of our lives.

We need morality first than Religions! (Must Read / See)

I can simply put it this way, when we cannot follow what morals our god or our religions want us to follow! Why we need religion alone? We need to be moral first before being religious in any path we prefer.

Please read the transcript or watch this video.. He makes more sense!

Well, religion is an interesting topic because religion is universal. All human societies believe in the supernatural. All human societies have a religion one way or another. Which for the biologists must mean that religion has some advantages — offers some advantages to a society. Otherwise we wouldn’t have that strong tendency to develop it. And so for me that’s actually a far more interesting question of whether God exists or doesn’t exist. That sort of question I cannot answer. But the question of why we have religions is an interesting question. And my view is that morality, our human morality, is older than religion so instead of saying morality comes from God or religion gave us morality. For me that’s a big no-no.¬†

Our current religions are just 2,000 or 3,000 years old which is very young. And our species is much older and I cannot imagine that, for example, a hundred thousand years or two hundred thousand years our ancestors did not have some type of morality. Of course they had rules about how you should behave, what is fair, what is unfair, caring for others — all of these tendencies were in place already so they had a moral system and then at some point we developed these present day religions which I think we’re sort of tacked on to the morality that we had. And maybe they served to codify them or to enforce them or to steer morality in a particular direction that we prefer.¬†

So religion comes in for me secondarily. I’m struggling with whether we need religion. So personally I think we can be moral without religion because we probably had morality long before the current religions came along. So I think we can be moral without religion but in large scale societies where we are not all keeping an eye on each other because we — in societies with a thousand people or several thousand or millions of people we cannot all keep an eye on each other. And that’s maybe why we installed religions in these large scale societies where a God kept watch over everybody.¬†

And then the question becomes is this really needed? Now in northern Europe — I’m from the Netherlands — there is basically an experiment going on. In northern Europe the majority of people are not religious anymore. When you ask them they say they’re nonbelievers. And they still have a moral society as far as I can tell. And so there is a sort of experiment going on there — can we set up a society where religion is not dominant at least? It may be present but it’s not dominant anymore, there is still a moral society. And until now I think that experiment is going pretty well. And so I am optimistic that religion is not strictly needed. But I cannot be a hundred percent sure because we’ve never really tried — there is no human society where religion is totally absent so we really have never tried this experiment.¬†

Share views : What is Evil? What is God?

I read this myopic and narrow thoughts expressed on a Facebook page, which I follow. I found it quite biased as an atheist thoughts. I am not against any atheist, but I am against people who are so selfish whether atheist or theist, without the compassion and values for the rest of the living beings in the world. So I shared my reply there and sharing the same with you all. ¬†This is the Post on that page…

This is my Response…

Good_vs_Evil

My Response… to the post above…

The human mind is so complicated and vulnerable. When it goes uncontrolled by self or any God, it becomes destructive to himself and the things around. So we need a believe system. If you believe God exists, if not you exist. But Doing whatever gives fun to you may not be correct always, as it may hurt others or yourself unintentionally, that’s what they call Evil!

Right from our birth we are used to call out for help, a child cries; the mother appears as a miracle! Because the child does not know what a mother is! As her caring goes on she realizes what is mother. The same mother prohibits a child when he/she tries to touch a fire, even after grown up she prohibits if her kid turns to drugs! Is that forbidding freedom or caring? God is like a mother. There is a huge difference between Religions and God, atheists are frustrated about religions, they might have to talk against the religious practices, instead they do it against God!

We are programmed generation after generation like this. So God becomes a universal Mother / Father who believed to be there for us when we need help. Fortunately there are a lot of psychological things involved in the system behind GOD, which is perfectly crafted. It is up to your mind to choose what you need to believe! But if you hurt others, the rest of the world will reject you!

One sad truth is Religions are losing the originality and deviated from the actual purpose why they had been created for. This happened a long time ago. So we are fighting on religious grounds.

In future people will leave religions, but hold on to the GOD, they believe and the Spirituality! We will not need a rigid system of Religions anymore! It will be outdated and humans have developed consciousness more than that.
