Snippet Thoughts : The logic of Discriminations!

I see the character as the only scale to differentiate one human being from another. Rest all are just a stupidity.

We are all one

Racial Discriminations

If you see the differences only on the basis of races, then you are one step behind to understand that we are all the same. Thousands of thousand years of evolution due to various climatic and environmental factors has altered us, in order to survive.

For example, if all humans are white, the won’t be any civilization near the equatorial line. We all knew that our origin was Africa, when we had separated ourselves from ape species we lost hair, and in order to survive the UV radiation from sun (African regions closer to Equatorial line) our early ancestors had to evolve dark skin to protect them from the sun. It was a chemical adaptation of our body happened over centuries.

Then as some of our ancestors moved towards European and Mongolian areas, they had to adapt to the cold weather and the need for dark skin had reduced because sunlight is less compared to Africa.

Then everything was history… we started spreading across the world settled at various parts of the world and our bodies developed static features. What we call now as various races.

If we switch all black Africans to Europe and Europeans to Africa, in a few thousand years, we will see Black people turn White and vice versa.

So logically, it is a stupidity to do racial discriminations.

Religious Discriminations

The history of religions also evolved along with human evolution. Geographical factors and Leadership factors would have played an important role in determining the features and powers of Gods.

Kings were the ones who had decided what kind of belief in what kind of God that the people should have, under their control. Some kings considered themselves as Gods, so the people followed. After a time period, they just did a blind worship of the first king who had been regarded as God. Thus, it gave shape to religions.

What about the Real God? When the spiritual consciousness of humans started to evolve and the more we began to believe in love and harmony. Our ancestors would have felt the real GOD as a symbol of love and peace. Then the refining processes would have started. That was, overthrowing of King Gods, leading to chaos and confusion.

But the ultimatum of violence and rage is always peace and love. The natural destiny of our soul. Then people would have realized and believed the real GOD.

Real GOD also had own challenges, we humans are suspecting species, and when left uncontrolled we tend to become evil and selfish. So, more variations to religions happened. Some religions had centre of control based on fear, some religions had it based on customs. Stricter rules and procedures had arrived. Obviously every process demanded a name for it for easy identification.

So we are here now with our world religions, still refining and defining GOD according to our own terms. 🙂

Remember, our roots would lead us to the same source. Peace and Love. Then why we should discriminate one another based on Religions? Stupidity isn’t it?

Nationality Discrimination

This is the most recent form of discrimination and people often confuse it with patriotism. It is nothing but sign of superiority complex and a mean to express who controls whom.

Ever since, borders are drawn economies bloomed, we got our differences growing. Nationalities are even complex when it has elements of Religious and Racist discriminations attached to their culture.

If you look at happy countries, they are secular and almost got rid of any kind of discrimination. Even they would feel positively proud of their nationality but not attached to it as an extremist. They go around with people of other nationalities so easily.

All countries must move in this direction either directly or indirectly.

If you are someone who feels so proud of belonging to some nation before being a proud human, then you need to think and switch the order of pride.

Last but not least, the worst form of Discrimination is

CASTE Discrimination

All it started as a classification humans based on their occupation, then caste system coupled with religions, it has pushed humanity backwards from positive progress.

Cultures associated with the castes, eating habits also widened the gap between people. We forgot the fact that we are after all individuals and can choose our culture based on our comfort and logical sense.

Now, everyone does every job, anybody can learn anything. So fundamental blocks of Casteism had become void and meaningless. We are in no need of castes.

Casteism is an ultimate stupidity and backward thinking. If you are a believer of the castes and if you feel it is necessary, then you are driving the wrong side. Some day in future, you must take a U-turn. Better you take the U-turn now.

Overall. We must feel Humans with no discriminations. Then only we can sustain as a species. We are travelling in a positive direction. Observe history… Trend is towards universal love and peace… Extremists are slowly expelled and seen as a sign of shame.

It’s time for a change! Upgrade yourselves 🙂

Know : Ramzan / Ramadan

Happy Ramzan to all Muslim Brothers and Sisters across the globe. Let us pray the God for peace, love and harmony to all religions, communities and nationalities with mutual respect. Whatever the differences we may have, God has already united us as human beings. We may have chosen different paths, different names, but God is always One.
RAmzan

Ramzan is the ninth month according to Islamic Lunar calendar. Ramzan (written as Ramadan) is derived from the Arabic root word ‘ramida’ or ‘arramad’ that means intense scorching heat and dryness, especially of the ground. Ramadan is so called to indicate the heating sensation in the stomach as a result of thirst. Others said it is so called because Ramadan scorches out the sins as it burns the ground. Some said it is so called because the hearts and souls are more readily receptive to the admonition and remembrance of Allah during Ramadan, as the sand and stones are receptive to the sun’s heat.

Ramadan begins after the month of Shaban, after the new moon has been sighted. In case new moon is not sighted then after 30 days of Shaban, Ramadan begins. The month of Ramadan lasts for 29 or 30 days depending on the sighting of the moon. If the moon is sighted on the night of 29th fast then the month of Shawwal begins from tomorrow and Ramadan is over. The 1st of Shawwal is the Eid also know as Eid-ul-fitr to distinguish it from Eid-ul-azha (Bakri Eid).

Ramadan is the month in which the Quran was revealed. The Quran clearly says “O you who believe! Fasting is prescribed to you as it was prescribed to those before you, that you many learn piety and rightousness” – Al Baqarah, 2:183. Fasting is to be done by all able bodied men and women and children who have reached puberty. If a person is sick or has some medical reason or if a women is pregnant then they are waived from fasting.

During Ramadan the people who fast are not allowed to eat or drink anything (including water) from dawn to after sunset. Also one has to restrain other body parts, which may render the fast worthless despite the main factor of hunger and thirst; so the tongue,

for instance, must avoid backbiting, slander, and lies; the eyes should avoid looking into things considered by the Lawgiver as unlawful; the ears must stop from listening to conversation, words, songs, and lyrics that spoil the spirit of fasting; and finally restraining of the heart, and mind from indulging, themselves in other things besides zikr or Allah (remembrance of Allah).

Also when one is fasting and feels hunger and thirst he has to remember other people in the world who do not have food and water. Charity is one of the extremely recommended acts during fasting. Muslims are required to give minimum of 2.5% of their annual savings as charity to poor and needy people. Also there are various sayings of the prophet (pbuh) where he has said that any charity made in Ramadan is multiplied upto 70 times. If some people are poor and cannot afford to give money then even a smile is an act of charity.

In recent years lot of research has been done about the medical benifits of Ramadan. The physiological effect of fasting includes lower of blood sugar, lowering of cholesterol and lowering of the systolic blood pressure. In fact, Ramadan fasting would be an ideal recommendation for treatment of mild to moderate, stable, non-insulin diabetes, obesity and essential hypertension. There are psychological effects of fasting as well. There is a peace and tranquility for those who fast during the month of Ramadan. Personal hostility is at a minimum, and the crime rate decreases. Muslims take advice from the Prophet who said, “If one slanders you or aggresses against you, say I am fasting.'” This psychological improvement could be related to better stabilization of blood glucose during fasting as hypoglycemia after eating, aggravates behavior changes. There is a beneficial effect of extra prayer at night. This not only helps with better utilization of food but also helps in output. There are 10 extra calories output for each rikat of the prayer. Again, we do not do prayers for exercise, but a mild movement of the joints with extra calorie utilization is a better form of exercise. Similarly, recitation of the Quran not only produces a tranquility of heart and mind, but improves the memory. There is a beneficial effect of extra prayer at night. Some people think that one month of fasting is too much while others feel that its only one month where they can get their sins forgiven and get their rewards increased. May Allah bless us all and forgive all our sins and make us good Muslims and good human beings.

Culture viewed in Universal Perspective

Being modern or traditional in the culture is decided within one’s own mind. Rest all is just opinions and illusions.

IllusionThe roots of culture and traditions goes back to the history of evolution. The entire transition of humanity from a mere animal to critical thinking brains as we are today, is because of living practices we adapted from time to time.

Such living practices existed along with the ever passing time, we name them as cultures and traditions.

What is Modern for today will be tomorrow’s culture/taboo. Many of the yesterday’s cultures have become myth, superstitions and comedies. What we thought un-doable or unethical are taboos! At any given point of time, all these are mere perceptions either according to one person or a collective perspective of a society. Which is not created by the universe, but by our very own mankind.

We can understand this if we believe in a bigger fact called Universal Truth. More wider we think, magnify our thought-scale, more clearer we can see the big picture of human culture.

Different countries have different code of ethics and culture, the modernity levels vary according to their own scale. Take any example of your choice like marriage, drinking, beach culture, dining habits, dressing sense, work culture, politics, etc. You can see the difference and when we correlate it with the history, the truth will be exposed. Modernity varies and the conflicts between people for acceptance was always there!

A simple process of one belief, seeking its approval from a majority of the people and it is attained either by will or driven by some forces like kings, wars, spiritualism, religion or fear of death, etc.

So this modernity is something which is highly unstable and temporary one. We cannot stop the change and cannot limit it to a particular direction. During the times of Sati and Wars to capture kingdoms, no one would have thought that culture will be replaced by Modern free lifestyles like Live-in relationships and Democracy, respectively. We didn’t know the same gods 1000s of years before! We do not know what gods we may worship after 1000 years from now! When we humans had discovered iron we cherished it in our culture, then we celebrated salt! Now we are going behind Gold, Money , etc. Wait for something to allure us in the future! 🙂

GreedThen what controls the Culture? or what controls the change? Would be a right way to ask this. The desire of human minds! As individuals we are constantly on a look out for something that keeps us in a comfort level. We humans never bend to the environment, instead we shape and alter the environment to suit our needs. Be it social environment or physical environment. We adapt actually by changing the culture (way of life) than changing ourselves in accordance with universal truth.

So are the problems and our constant wandering to find solutions for them. We are the creators!

One good thing is whatever we try, our human species cannot defy the universal truth and we are always under its terms and conditions. Like we cannot switch from inhaling oxygen to nitrogen or CO2. We cannot survive in a culture which exploits nature and other living beings to put us on top of the ladder.

You might feel this is more philosophical or spiritual way of looking things. Think again deep, it’s practical and psychological as well.

So it’s better to realize the change we can control when it comes to culture is totally limited only to our very own selves. We can control nothing beyond our nose, which all becomes external. Do not try to change the culture or the society, you can change yourself and influence it for a change you want! Culture keeps on changing.

ChangeEven that too will be a temporary one! So, take a back seat when it comes to culture and enjoy the ride as life brings with smile and acceptance. Do what is right for you within your own boundaries, when you include others into your wants, then you are obviously inviting their cultural acceptance or  a change, for your own wants! So from there onwards complexity begins! The old saying goes the same “What’s right for one may be wrong for another!”

Get along with people who are like minded and make life simple. Although ensure you are in sync with the universal truth, which provides you the message and hints towards the right path of life. Those hints are kindness, love, calmness, peace, compassion, simplicity, sustainability, happiness, letting go, etc. After all these thoughts too are my way of looking things, so the choice is yours. 🙂 Have a great time ahead.

“Say you belong to a religion only when you follow the virtues of your god. You first fill your soul with love and kindness like Jesus, Allah, Krishna, Buddha or any God. Else your religion alone exists with you, when you hate and spread hatred, you are just a religious extremist, not a follower of any faith.” – Din

What say you?

God can be realized through all paths. All religions are true. The important thing is to reach the roof. You can reach it by stone stairs or by wooden stairs or by bamboo steps or by a rope. You can also climb up by a bamboo pole.
