Insights : The Twelve Gifts

Use your gifts well and you will discover others, among them a gift that is uniquely you.

childrenOnce upon a time, a long time ago, when princes and princesses lived in faraway kingdoms, royal children were given twelve special gifts when they were born. You may have heard the stories. Twelve wise women of the kingdom, or fairy godmothers as they were often called, traveled swiftly to the castle whenever a new prince or princess came into the world. Each fairy godmother pronounced a noble gift upon the royal baby.

As time went on, the wise women came to understand that the twelve royal gifts of birth belong to every child, born anywhere at any time. They yearned to proclaim the gifts to all children, but the customs of the land did not allow that.

One day when the wise women gathered together they made this prophecy:

Some day, all the children of the world will learn the truth about their noble inheritance. When that happens a miracle will unfold on the kingdom of Earth.

Some day is near. Here is the secret they want you to know.

At the wondrous moment you were born, as you took your first breath, a great celebration was held in the heavens and twelve magnificent gifts were granted to you.

1. Strength is the first gift. May you remember to call upon it whenever you need it.

2. Beauty is the second gift. May your deeds reflect its depth.

3. Courage is the third gift.May you speak and act with confidence and use courage to follow your own path.

4. Compassion is the fourth gift. May you be gentle with yourself and others. May you forgive those who hurt you and yourself when you make mistakes.

5. Hope is the fifth gift. Through each passage and season, may you trust the goodness of life.

6. Joy is the sixth gift. May it keep your heart open and filled with light.

7. Talent is the seventh gift. May you discover your own special abilities and contribute them toward a better world.

8. Imagination is the eighth gift. May it nourish your visions and dreams.

9. Reverence is the ninth gift. May you appreciate the wonder that you are and the miracle of all creation.

10. Wisdom is the tenth gift. Guiding your way, wisdom will lead you through knowledge to understanding. May you hear its soft voice.

11. Love is the eleventh gift. It will grow each time you give it away.

12. Faith is the twelfth gift. May you believe.

Now you know about your twelve gifts of birth. But there is more to the secret that the wise women knew. Use your gifts well and you will discover others, among them a gift that is uniquely you. See these noble gifts in other people. Share the truth and be ready for the miracle to unfold as the prophecy of the wise women comes true.

Child’asana ;) My Crazy Way to Restore happYness

Child'asana is the technique of trying to emulate whatever children do. Invented by a scientist from the Planet 'Mars'.

Are you going to believe if I say this? Ha ha :)

Child’asana? This is yoga you can never find in anywhere. Hee hee.. I just learned it today 🙂 Believe me, children can restore anything in this world. They are mesmerizing wonders and gifts from heaven.

When your life takes turns, especially tries to break you down, the best way to handle it is to emulate a child. Cry out if you wish to do so, then forget worries the next day. Whether you got a lap to rest on or not, believe your pillow is the one’s lap to console you.

Whatever the situation life throws at us, we can forget all the worries in a child’s smile at us. Even a picture of a child would be enough to do this magic.

Sometimes we see such child in our beloved ones’, regardless of their age. Our play time with daddy can give a free time travel ticket to the past. He was unlikely the one like now, those days whenever he returns home, he lifted us and offered an elephant ride on his back. Ego of generation was unknown to both of us that time. He agrees with whatever stupid things we say and smiles at us. Now things are different, we try to prove who is correct. Thanks to Ego. Yet Remember those sweet days he offered to us, love him whatever he is. Because he knows us only a part of his life, but since our birth, we are seeing him all the way. It is easy for us to adjust than expecting him to change for us.

She entered life all of a sudden from nowhere and disappeared one day. Both entry and exit of her is like a magic and mystery. No blame games, a good soul can never hate and hurt back. But that leaves no excuse from getting hurt. When the one hurts, it pains the most to you. So what next? We cannot quit. Life goes on.

It takes time for any renaissance. For a soul to heal, there is no medicine than itself to indulge in finding ways to heal. My way always is to feel like a child. Be happy inside or not, let smile be affixed to the face. Make others around to smile, they will put us under pressure to be happy. No other way for me to turn happy really. So it happened. A Smile is always there with me and around.

The magic happened again. Love at first sight is not my cup of tea, yet this cute little girl in this picture shattered my laws. I have fallen in love with her at the instance. 🙂 I smiled at her. Tried to do what she is doing.

I went to my sister who was combing her hair, “Look at me” I know I am not flexible as that kid, yet I almost did it. 😛 Looking at the world so crazy upside down 🙂 “Who is that person watching me!” My sister was laughing rolling on the floor. Ouch! 😛 There’s my dad, seeing his 27 year old son behaving like a kid! 🙂 “Is he alright?” he might have asked my sister.

HeeeeeeeeHeeee…. I just looked at him, smiled and walked away as if “Hey what’s happening here? Any circus or what :)” He smiled for something! I know the reason why. His son still can be funny as he used to be always. I know he is definitely happy inside to see me happy again like the old days.

That’s the success story of my experiment of redemption. Any loss can be gained. Any sadness can fade to happiness. Every bad day is followed by a good day.

When life seems over, just hold on. Even if you are alone, ask a child for help. Nothing can offer you a remedy than the sweet little helping hands of a child. Grow only by age, Grow only in appearance, but never lose the child inside you. Be like a child always, wisdom multiplies…

Modernity is enabling us to learn anything we want, we are knowledgeable. Yet our future is not just depended on our knowledge, but on our wiseness in choosing what to learn and what needed to be learned!

Story : Losing something is not a reason to worry

A poor family of a worker, lived in a small town. He worked hard and honest though his earnings were just enough to meet his family’s day to day needs. One day his wife went to a vegetable market and she has just 10 Rupees with her. That could be enough for buying vegetable for two days for her family.

6DietingTipsShe carefully picked a few vegetables in a very little quantity and calculated the price before paying the money. It was well within 10 Rupees. The shopkeeper checked the vegetables and asked her to pay 9 Rupees. She checked her money purse, but the 10 Rupee note was missing. The purse was torn and old, she had lost the money somewhere. With no choice she returned the vegetables and returned home, searching all the way for the rupee note.

Her husband asked her what happened? “I lost the money somewhere”, she showed the torn purse. He consoled her to leave that and not to worry about it. But she knew the value of the hard earned money. She leaned on his shoulders and cried.

The next day she went to market again, but kept the money in her palm so she does not lose it this time. On the way she found a little boy with a school bag crying and she walked to him.

“What happened? Why are you crying?”

“I did not pay the Flag fee to the school and the teacher sent me out of the class. He asked me not to come to school here after” the boy broken into tears even more.

Temporary Folder4“Do not cry. What is your father doing?” She wiped his tears with her saree.

“I do not have father, my mother is a brick cutter.”

“How much you need to pay?” she asked with a worried face.

“Ten Rupees”, he replied.

Without even thinking for a moment, she gave the money to him and walked him to his school nearby. He paid the fees to his teacher while she watches and he came out and thanked her.

He ran inside the classroom with a merry face.

She returned home without buying the vegetables. “Where are the vegetables?, even today, you lost the money?” he was a bit annoyed.

“No”, she told him what happened.

He did not get angered or any disappointment “see, you are not crying today, but you lost the same money yesterday, you know why?”

She was unable to explain why.

He answered “Our worries are not because we lost money! In both cases we lost money, but only the way you look at it has changed. You felt better when you know that you lost money for some good reason. You have bought home the little boy’s happiness instead of vegetables now!”
